A Review on Prevalence of Inflammatory Bowel Disease in India

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s (CD) was believed to be a Western disease, but are now increasingly being reported from India other Asian countries where IBD almost unheard of 30 years ago. Now is projected have one the highest burden across world. There rising incidence prevalence in topping Southeast countries. The clinical presentation similar South East considered as result complex interaction between environment, diet, certain medications, genetic variables severe autoimmune response against normal bacteria gut. However exact cause still unknown. Also there exists gender distribution IBD. In more prevalent males compared females. This review summarizes some possible risk factors contributing it.
